The game accommodates three players using a standard deck of 52 cards. Each player begins with 16 cards, leaving the remaining four as a kitty. Players can decide the number of hands—three, five, or eight—through a draw. The player intending to play for eight hands announces their intentions with options including Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, No Trumps, or Pass. It is important to note that previously announced options cannot be repeated in subsequent deals. Should a player find their hand unsuitable for a successful outcome, they may announce Pass, leading to a new deal and another chance to declare their option. If No Trumps is declared, the cards drawn will be invalidated.

Following the announcement phase, the player designated to play eight hands can exchange the four cards from the kitty with cards from their hand. This strategy typically involves incorporating higher-value cards from the kitty while discarding weaker ones. The card exchange process is initiated by selecting a card from the kitty and simultaneously selecting a lesser card from the original hand. This exchange concludes upon pressing a Start button.

In instances where a player holds more hands than originally required from prior deals, they are permitted to draw that number of cards from opponents. The drawing process is executed in such a manner where the drawing player offers their lowest card of a selected color in exchange for the highest of that color from the opponent. It is worth noting that if No Trumps was declared earlier, any card draws become irrelevant.

The player committed to eight hands leads off by playing their card first in reverse clockwise order. While responding to the lead is mandatory, trumping is optional. The hierarchy of cards is established as follows: 2 through A, with winning tricks going to either the highest card of the matching color or the highest trump played.

At the conclusion of all hands, results are calculated based on the difference between required hands and those achieved during gameplay. For example, if a player needed to win 8 hands but only achieved 6, their score reflects -2; conversely, if they were required to win 3 but succeeded with 7, their score would be +4.

The game's conclusion occurs when each participant has declared all potential playing options (totalling 15 games), with victory awarded to the player accumulating the highest score.
